Bio

Kenefa Burris (she/her) is a dedicated 3K teacher at PS5 based in Brooklyn, NY. She has taught for nine years. Her primary focus is early childhood special education. Kenefa has received her New York State Initial Certificate in Early Childhood Education (Birth to 2 years old),  New York State Initial Certificate in Students with Disabilites (Birth to Grade 2),  New York State Initial Certificate in Education (Grades 1 to 6) and  New York State Initial Certificate in Students with Disabilites (Grades 1 to Grade 6). 

She graduated from Teachers College and taught in the Peace Corps Eastern Caribbean. Kenefa firmly believes in meeting children where they are academically, socially, and emotionally. She strives to obtain the best for students despite needing more means.
